Book Review:

Colours of Passion is fast paced, captivating story with a plot so beautifully executed that it keeps the reader on the edge of the seat throughout the read. The story begins with the brutal murder of Tollywood actress Hiya Sen and till the end the author manages to keep the suspense without giving even the slightest hint as to who was the real culprit. With an unpredictable script and crisp narration, the book is a treat for thriller lovers.

This book is the second in Detective Agni Mitra series and reflects the way how interestingly and passionately he solves his cases. ACP Agni Mitra’s investigation style is really beautiful that keeps the reader glued to the book.

The plot is very nice and has been crafted very well. The narration style is vivid and the language lucid. The language used in the novel is simple to understand. The descriptions are so vivid that sometimes I felt as if I was watching a thriller movie.

Kudos to the author for weaving such an interesting and gripping murder mystery. The pace of the novel is quite fast which manages to keep the readers hooked on to the story. Sourabh Mukherjee’s way of storytelling is praise worthy.

If we talk about the characterisations, I feel the author should have invested some more in developing the characters.

The cover design is very thoughtful. The choice of colours, images and props are absolutely perfect. I loved the way Howrah Bridge was imprinted over the is image of the knife soaked in blood. It clearly depicts the theme and setting of the story.

The title is also attractive and eye catchy.

All in all, if you are looking for a quick, yet thrilling mystery that would keep you guessing, read Colours of Passion by Sourabh Mukherjee. You won’t be disappointed.
