My Style Is “Me”

What is style? According to me – style is the reflection of a person. One can easily gauge the personality, likes & dislikes of a person (if not always) but mostly with the attire, the accessories and the “Style”.

Well if I am asked to define “My Style” then I can describe it in just two words: comfort and elegance. I always prefer clothes and accessories that make me feel comfortable. I always choose something that is sober and elegant.

I love to do experiments but one thing that I always make sure is that it should not look over the top. Personally I love to see myself in a saree but to be honest; I seldom wear one. Now here comes the second part of my style; comfort. I do not feel comfortable in a saree.

I am an eighties kid and I grew up watching movies of Shabana Azmi, Smita Patil, Anita Raj and Supriya Pathak. Knowingly or unknowingly, I started liking their style. The way they dressed up and the accessories they used were amazing; and subconsciously I adopted their style. I also started wearing kurties with danglers, necklaces and junk jewellery.

When going to office, I like to wear easy to carry clothes like jeans and kurties. During formal occasions, I prefer wearing silk suits with light jewellery.

In summers, chikan and cotton suits are my favourites. I also wear jeans and long skirts with short kurties and danglers.

I am not a fan of high heels. I rather prefer jooties and sandals.

I like blue, pink, golden yellow and white but while shopping my clothes, there is no special preference for any colour. Usually I go for subtle colours but then bright ones are also welcome.

One last thing that I would like to mention is that I always wear a smile and confidence while stepping out that completes “My Style”.
